2012/2013 TRAINING SEASON
MEMBERSHIP DUES
Monthly Membership Dues:
ADULTS (age 16 and over) $60 per month
CHILDREN (age 6 to 15) $40 per month
Discount offered for 3 month prepayment on primary membership
Family Rates (more than one member of the family training):
ADULTS $50 per month
CHILDREN $30 per month
Grading Dues:
Scheduled gradings are held throughout the year, and include grading panel, belt, and certificate if successful
Kyu (Coloured) Grading: $60
Mon (Children's) Grading: $20
Dan (Black) Grading: $80
Retest, or additional family members*: Half Price
*(half price if all family members grade at the same time)
Monthly dues are collected at the beginning of the month, and can also be paid in advance
Annual Association Dues:
September to June:
Seihoku Shotokan Canada $20 per year
Karate Alberta Association $25 per year
Total $45 per year
Annual association dues are collected by the end of September
January to June (if a karateka joins in January or after): annual dues are half price for the remainder of the season
CLASS DETAILS
Class Location: Airdrie United Church Hall
212 – 1st Ave, NE
Class Times: Tuesday and Thursday 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm (structured training / all ages & levels);
Karateka are expected to arrive by 6:55 pm in their training gear; if you arrive early, use the time for self directed warm-up or training.
Class Details:
Focusing on the development of a well rounded karateka rooted in the traditional values, and includes training in kihon (basics), kata (forms), and kumite (sparring).
§ Students may be working individually to develop self focus and training, in partners, or in groups.
§ There may also be times when students will train specifically in self defence. Students can expect these drills to be safe and structured, but they also may be very high intensity.
OTHER: The Karate Alberta Association hosts various tournaments throughout the year for which we train for and encourage students to attend. Additional tournament equipment is required. Seihoku Shotokan Canada hosts TWO seminars per year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Students are encouraged to attend. Karate gis (uniform) and equipment is available through order and purchase from the club.
